Moved to the school

The four symbol drills — Akṣara and Rāśi for the glyphs, Lekhanī for the hand, Smṛti for the deck — no longer stand on this bench. They are not readings; they are practice, and they belong beside the Practice Room in Learn’s drills studio.

Gathered into one room

The belt of sky, the star grid of lords and deities, and the pādas inside each sign stood here as three doors. They read the same twenty-seven stars, so they now share one — three tabs in a single room. Nothing was rewritten and nothing was deleted: each is the instrument it was, and each still answers at its own address.

Where the Western craft is worked

These benches were built on the Indian side first, and their names show it. Some carry Western work — Gati progresses a chart day-for-a-year and the Gochara bi-wheel lays that same progressed sky over the transits, Dṛṣṭi measures degree to degree as well as by whole sign, and the firdaria runs as one lane of Jīvana-rekhā. The rest has no bench of its own yet: sect and the dignities, the almuten, the dispositor chains, profections and the solar return are worked inside their own lessons, and gathered in the full reading.
